Literacy Volunteers of America provides training and assistance to groups and individuals who teach basic literacy to adults. The organization trains individuals to teach English as a second language and supplies materials and services to other groups of volunteer tutors. The group also publishes instructional and training materials, handbooks, and a quarterly newsletter, The Reader.
